「千の声」は、日本とアメリカに拠点をおくコレクティブです。小さな集団ですが、わたしたちには世界各地に友人がいます。ある意味で、わたしたちのプロジェクトは、この関係性を強化し、それぞれがたずさわっている闘争をつなげていこうとするものです。
今日わたしたちは、惑星的な荒廃に直面しています。それはわたしたちの実存のあらゆる面に作用していて、すべての国家をグローバルな内戦に駆り立てつつあります。メディアからあふれでてくるニュースはますます暗い話題ばかりになり、そこに浸っている日常のなかで、大枠の「世界」にたいする、自分たちの無力感ばかりがつのっていきます。しかし他方でわたしたちは、この「世界」という表象の下では、「地球」が立ち現れつづけていることを知っています。危機に瀕したあらゆる生き物が、生きのびるために苦闘しているなかで、わたしたちの「闘う生」も、固有の世界をつくりながら噴出しつづけています。それらは、隆起するマグマや寄せては返す海波のように、流転しつづける地球身体の部分なのです。世界は生まれ、世界は死に、世界は再び現れる。ゆえにわたしたちは、地球が発する千の声を聞きながら、増殖しつづける世界に耳を広げようとしているのです。
この暗い時代に、わたしたちに幸せをもたらしてくれるものは、なによりも、まだ見ぬ友人たちとの出会いです。それらの友人たちは、地球上の生物種と同じくらい多様な「闘争としての生」の経験をもち、資本主義と国民国家によってつくられた絶望的な世界に無数の穴をあけています。「千の声」は、こうした友人たちと出会い、その言葉を共有するための道具であるといえるでしょう。
わたしたちの方法は、広い意味での「翻訳」にほかなりません。わたしたちはさまざまな言語を用いて、無数の形をもつ人びとの闘争の「生きた感覚」を伝えたいと思っています。また、この「翻訳」の目的は、さまざまな闘争のあいだに等価性あるいは同一性を見いだすことではありません。むしろそれぞれが特異な幾多の闘いが、たがいに反響しあい、さまざまな関係を築いてゆくための媒介となることです。わたしたちは、そのことによって、現代資本主義文明による均質化とそれがかりたてる死への欲動に抗して、地球上の命を豊かにしようとする闘争のきずながつむがれてゆくことを願っています。

We are a small, international collective based primarily in Japan and the US. We also have friends in many other parts of the world, and in one sense, our collective project is to nurture those relationships, and to encourage the connections between these friends’ struggles.
We are facing the immensity of planetary devastation, affecting all aspects of our existence, and likely driving all nations into a global civil war. Immersed in media reports whose narratives are increasingly dark, we feel incapacitated in the big picture of the world. But beneath this picture, we also know that the planet always emerges. As all life forms in crisis fight for survival, our lives in struggle continue to erupt, along with the upwelling of waves and magma pushing through a planet that is ceaselessly in motion. Worlds are born; worlds reemerge. So we extend an ear to the multiplying worlds, listening to the thousand voices of the Earth.
In this dark time, one thing that gives us happiness is to discover friends, whose experiences of life in struggle are as varied as life on Earth, and whose struggles create openings in the doomed world of capitalist nation states. 1000 voices is a tool to encounter these friends and to share their stories.
Our method is based on translation in a broad sense. More than the meaning of words in different languages, we seek to convey the living sense of people's struggles, which take on myriad forms. Similarly, our purpose is not to bring their differences into equivalency, but to find reverberation in their heterogeneity. Against the homogenizing ecocidal and genocidal forces of colonialist capitalist civilization, we seek to encourage the flourishing interrelations of the proliferating struggles to nurture and cherish life on Earth.

Somos un pequeño colectivo internacional con base principalmente en Japón y Estados Unidos. También tenemos amigxs en muchos otros rincones del mundo y, en cierto sentido, nuestro proyecto colectivo consiste en cultivar esos vínculos y alentar las conexiones entre las luchas de esxs amigxs.
Nos enfrentamos a la inmensidad de una devastación planetaria que afecta todos los aspectos de nuestra existencia y amenaza con arrastrar a todas las naciones hacia una guerra civil mundial. Bajo el incesante flujo de los discursos mediáticos —cada vez más sombríos—, una sensación de parálisis parece apoderarse de nosotrxs ante el panorama general del mundo. Sin embargo, más acá de ese panorama, también sabemos que el planeta siempre vuelve a levantarse. Mientras todas las formas de vida en crisis luchan por sobrevivir, nuestras vidas en lucha siguen brotando, junto con el oleaje y el magma que atraviesan un planeta en perpetuo movimiento. Los mundos nacen; los mundos reaparecen. Por eso afinamos el oído hacia los mundos que se multiplican, para escuchar las mil voces de la Tierra.
En estos tiempos oscuros, una de las cosas que nos alegra es encontrar amigxs cuyas experiencias de vida en lucha son tan diversas como la propia vida en la Tierra, y cuyas luchas abren grietas en el mundo condenado de los Estados-nación capitalistas. 1000 voces es una herramienta para encontrarse con esxs amigxs y compartir sus historias.
Nuestro método se basa en la traducción, entendida en un sentido amplio. Más que trasladar el significado de las palabras entre distintos idiomas, buscamos transmitir el sentido vivo de las luchas de la gente, que adoptan formas innumerables. Del mismo modo, nuestro propósito no es borrar sus diferencias, sino encontrar resonancias en su heterogeneidad. Frente a las fuerzas ecocidas y genocidas de la civilización capitalista colonial, buscamos alentar las interrelaciones florecientes entre las luchas que proliferan para cuidar y celebrar la vida en la Tierra.
